Our Story

In the 1990’s, two brothers sold pest control door to door during their summer breaks to earn money for college. Though the days were long, they found success—and satisfaction—helping residential customers solve their pest problems. They then got licensed as pest control technicians, serving customers by servicing their properties and eliminating pests. As the summers went by, the brothers saw how other pest control companies provided pest control services and saw improvements they could make, especially by focusing on high-quality customer service. Eventually, the brothers began to doubt their academic choices and realized they would enjoy owning and running their own business.

By 2000, the two brothers decided to leave academia and start their own pest control company. They hired two other people and Official Pest Prevention was born. They opened an office in Elk Grove with one truck and a single customer.

Since then, these two brothers have grown Official Pest Prevention into a thriving, full-service pest control company that services over 100,000 customers in five area codes in Northern and Central California. We now have offices in Sacramento, Fresno, and East Bay, employ over 100 people, and sport a fleet of over 75 vehicles. And now the two brothers have become three, but Official Pest Prevention is still family-owned and local—and proud of it.

And we’re still building! We plan to expand into Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area, Redding and Chico, the Napa Valley Wine Country, and Bakersfield. Despite the many challenges we see all around us, we see the future as hopeful and promising, in part because of the wonderful, good-hearted customers and employees we work with every day. And we plan to be here to solve your pest needs.
